

The stick is just pure charcoal and it’s very sturdy so you don’t have to worry about it breaking off and ending up in your water. But if it did, it wouldn’t be harmful for your health.

I use this IKEA pitcher and fill it with water every evening, you get the best results if the stick can work its magic for at least 8 hours. Fewer hours will also work, but it won’t have the full effect.

I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and you can see a little bit of residue on there, but it’s barely noticeable. When it’s time, I will boil it and then it will work perfectly for another 3 months.

I’m super happy with this more natural and sustainable approach to filtering water, I’ve even been drinking water more often and I’ve been feeling great! The water tastes much better as well. If I ever find a brand that sells these without plastic packaging, I’ll buy those, but for now I’m happy with this one!
