I hate matches because first of all I’m really bad at lighting them 🙈⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Matches also use wood and can obviously only be used once so they are inherently wasteful. They also contain different chemicals that you might not want to have near you on the daily.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I always used to buy those long candle lighters but they are made of plastic and refilling them was harder than it seemed (I never actually found a way to refill!).⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
After a while of looking and asking around I found this rechargeable electric candle lighter!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

It uses a USB to charge and you just press a button to light your candle 🙌🏻 I’m so happy with this invention. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

If you have the means to supplement (because obviously they can be expensive) it can be worth to look into it.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Here’s what most people in Belgium need⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
* vitamin D: research has shown up to 80% of Belgians may have a vitamin D defiencency and many health officials recommend you to supplement during the winter. During these lockdowns maybe even more. Get your blood tested if you are unsure of the dosage! I use these drops all year round and take a higher dosage in winter⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
* B12: if your diet doesn’t have it added into it. Meat contains B12 these days because those animals get supplements as well. If you don’t eat meat or eat processed things that have it added as well, a supplement might be in order.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
* pre- and probiotics: after antibiotics, being ill or other with types of medications, these can help your gut restore or survive the medications. I just had to take antibiotics due to an infection and just finished this bottle. These are to be taken as a treatment and not longterm without consulting a doctor.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
* Multi vitamins or other specific vitamins:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Most of these types are usually harmless and that’s why you can buy them without a prescription. This doesn’t mean you should go in blindly. I took a multivitamin with Q10  for my mononucleosis because my doctor recommended it. I also needed iron because it was low. When my last vitamins ran out. I got this one that also includes iron.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Long story short: you probably need vitamin D if you live in Belgium, do your research AND consult a physician. Especially for long term vitamin supplementation.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I love working out to relieve my pressure but I sometimes forgot your body and mind also need REST. Doing ‘nothing’, being still, at home, in the moment and taking some quiet metime.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I recently learned I have ADHD. I’ve been assuming I had ADD for about 10 years now and finally consulted an organisation that helps you navigate to a diagnosis.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Now that I can place these feelings of restlesness. I can figure out little tricks to try and make myself rest. One of them is keeping me inside a room with things like my diffuser, a candle, some incense or music playing. These tie me to the room in a very physical way: scent, touch, hearing,..⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Because I’m forced to stay in that room a little more I can then try and focus on things like reading, naps, journalling, stretching, meditation,..⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I’m still finding my way and definitely don’t do this enough but I wanted to share this little tip for any other restless souls out there ☺️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

This is something I’ve wanted to try for years so when I cleared out some old papers in my office I bought the screen you use to scoop the paper with and got started 👏🏻

I also got a cheap secondhand mixer to mix the shredded paper into a pulp but besides that I had everything I needed already: towels and a basin to put the pulp in.

I might buy a piece of felt cause apparently that’s easier to use but not sure yet.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This is an awesome eco at home activity for sundays or to do with kids. For me it was kind of a challenge to stay patient and calm but it was almost therapeutic 😅
